About H.A.R.P.E.R.

I’m Race Harper, also known as The Cautiously Optimistic Dad, the owner of H.A.R.P.E.R. It stands for Harper Alternator Rebuild Plus Electrical Repair. I started the business to give people a local option when their vehicle won’t start, the battery keeps going dead, or the charging system just isn’t doing its job.

I grew up in a ranching family in southern Idaho, where keeping equipment running was part of getting the day’s work done. My Air Force career in Power Production built on that experience. Working on generators and electrical systems taught me to follow the symptoms, test what I can, and let the readings guide the repair. That’s the same approach I bring to a truck that won’t crank or an alternator that isn’t keeping up.

I’m building H.A.R.P.E.R. as a mobile business here in the Cheyenne area, with a focus on alternators. I’ll explain what I find in plain language and walk you through the options so you can decide what makes sense for your vehicle.

I run H.A.R.P.E.R. around my full-time work, so I take on most jobs in the evenings. If you’re having trouble getting something started or keeping it charged, send me a message with what it’s doing and we’ll find a time that works.
